Open Air Masterclasses
IAAD. offers the public of the Turin Auto Show two itinerant masterclasses to discover some of the most fascinating and suggestive specimens of the event.
The first masterclass will be dedicated to Bertone vehicles exhibited by ASI.
The second masterclass will be a journey through the most iconic supercars of the past and our time.
Both Masterclasses will be guided by Matteo Licata, IAAD. lecturer and connoisseur of the history and evolution of automotive design.
The masterclasses are free and open until all seats are taken, with mandatory registration.
Bertone 1912-2014. The Trampoline of Giants.
Talking about Bertone means talking about the golden age of Italian coachbuilding: a unique and unrepeatable period in which a small number of Turin “signatures” managed to influence the technical/aesthetic evolution of the car, inversely proportional to their company size.
Taking the reins of the family business after the war, Nuccio Bertone was able to take full advantage of a highly favorable historical period thanks to bold and visionary choices, as well as an extraordinary “nose” for recognizing and cultivating absolute talents. Giants like Franco Scaglione, Giorgetto Giugiaro, and Marcello Gandini, whom Nuccio gave the opportunity to fully express their creativity, achieved worldwide success.
Today, Nuccio and that Bertone are no more, but one could say that it still influences what we drive: the creations of the Turin firm continue to be a source of inspiration for contemporary car designers even half a century later.
