BRAVERY BAR: DESIGN MEETS PARALYMPIC SPORTS
The BRAVERY BAR returns to Milano Design Week 2025 as a space for dialogue, discussion, and collective growth.
Promoted by IAAD., Accademia Italiana, and SAE Institute – the three Italian schools of the AD Education Group – the project aims to be a meeting point for individuals and ideas, blending design, technology, and inclusion.
This fourth edition, titled “BE AWARE: rethinking paralympic design,” focuses on the relationship between design and limitations, in anticipation of the Milano-Cortina 2026 Winter Olympics and Paralympics. The goal is to explore the potential of design and how it can turn constraints and challenges into opportunities, developing innovative solutions that redefine the relationship between humans and their limitations.
A Bridge Between Sports, Innovation, and Design
Paralympic athletes embody the overcoming of limits through technology, determination, and physical strength. Following this example, the BRAVERY BAR invites the audience to reflect on the concept of limitation not only in sports but also in everyday life. The event will be an opportunity to discuss inclusive design and the potential of technologies applied to tools, spaces, and devices that can enhance both quality of life and sports performance.
From April 7-12, 2025, at Basic Village in Milan, the BRAVERY BAR, in collaboration with Isola Design, will bring designers and paralympic athletes together in an open dialogue of ideas and innovation.
Contributing to the content of this edition is designer, entrepreneur, and documentary filmmaker Danilo Ragona.
An Idea Lab for the Future of Design
With this initiative, IAAD., Accademia Italiana, and SAE Institute reaffirm their commitment to training designers capable of tackling contemporary challenges with a critical and innovative spirit.
The BRAVERY BAR represents a valuable opportunity for students to connect with the professional world, creating synergies with companies and industry leaders.
Events like this demonstrate how design can be much more than a simple aesthetic expression: it can become a true tool for inclusion and progress. The BRAVERY BAR thus reaffirms itself as a lab for experimentation and inspiration, capable of shaping minds ready to transform the future.
